İzmir-founded consumer technology company HubX has become Türkiye’s eighth unicorn after announcing an investment of up to $75 million from Point72 Private Investments.
HubX announced the investment on August 28, 2026, describing it as the company’s first external funding since it was founded in 2022. The transaction is based on a $1.2 billion pre-money valuation.
The financing includes an initial $50 million investment and an option for an additional $25 million, taking the potential total investment to $75 million. HubX’s announcement says the company will use the capital to expand its product portfolio, strengthen its technology and pursue acquisitions.
Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade, which supports HubX through its E-TURQUALITY program, said the company reached a valuation of $1.275 billion following the investment. The figure corresponds to the $1.2 billion pre-money valuation reported by HubX plus the full $75 million investment.
The ministry also described HubX as Türkiye’s first unicorn in the mobile-application field. HubX is the country’s eighth unicorn overall, following companies including Peak Games, Getir, Dream Games, Trendyol, Hepsiburada, Insider and Loom Games.
HubX was established in İzmir in 2022 by co-founders Cem Ortabaş and Kaan Ortabaş. The company has remained bootstrapped and profitable while expanding its operations, according to its own announcement.
HubX says it now has more than 370 employees working across İzmir and Istanbul. Its portfolio contains more than 40 mobile and web products that have collectively reached more than 600 million users across 190 countries.
The company operates several consumer technology products across areas that include artificial intelligence, education, health and fitness, and digital content.
Among its products is Nova, an AI assistant that HubX said reached one million users two weeks after launching in 2023. Its other products include Wiser, a knowledge and book-summary application, and DaVinci, an AI art application.
HubX reported in January 2024 that DaVinci had reached eight million users and taken the top position in app-store charts in multiple markets. Wiser was later selected by Google Play as a Best of 2025 winner in the Best Everyday Essential category in major markets including the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.
HubX also expanded into health and wellness through its acquisition of Lotus Flow in May 2025. The platform offers yoga, Pilates, fitness and mindfulness content and became part of a dedicated Health & Fitness Studio within HubX.
Artificial intelligence has become a central part of the company’s product strategy. HubX established its AI Lab in May 2024 to work on fine-tuning and training additional layers on existing foundation models for current and future products.
The company has also developed internal technology to support its portfolio. One example is RevenueX, a system designed to track and optimise in-app purchase revenue. HubX said the system contributed to a 50% increase in subscription revenue and was being prepared for a beta release as a business-to-business product.
The new Point72 investment is also intended to support a more aggressive acquisition strategy.
HubX says it plans to seek established consumer mobile applications, web products, product teams and other consumer technology businesses with existing user traction. Acquired products and teams would be integrated into HubX’s broader infrastructure while retaining their product focus.
The company plans to provide those businesses with access to its technology, artificial intelligence, data, monetisation, user-acquisition and marketing capabilities.
Point72 Private Investments is part of the wider Point72 organisation. Point72 said in April 2026 that it had surpassed $50 billion in assets under management.
The investment gives HubX institutional backing for an expansion strategy that combines internal product development with acquisitions rather than relying on one consumer application.
The deal also adds to Türkiye’s growing technology sector. According to the country’s Ministry of Trade, information-technology services exports increased from $432 million in 2012 to approximately $5.5 billion in 2025.
The government said HubX’s unicorn status demonstrates the potential of Türkiye’s software, mobile-application and digital-services industries to generate internationally competitive companies.
HubX’s rise also stands out geographically. The company was founded in İzmir and continues to maintain operations there alongside its Istanbul presence, giving the city one of Türkiye’s largest privately valued technology success stories.
With the Point72 deal, HubX is moving into a new phase after building its business without external funding. The company now has capital to expand its existing products, develop its artificial-intelligence capabilities and pursue acquisitions in international consumer technology markets.
For the funding itself, however, the distinction between the announced amount and the maximum package remains important: HubX disclosed $50 million in initial investment plus an option for up to $25 million more, rather than confirming that the entire $75 million has already been invested.
